Region 8 Conference Proposal Deadline 1 Week!!!

1 WEEK DEADLINE TO SUBMIT for the Region 8 Conference in Missolua, MT! We will be accepting proposals until January 12, 2017! SUBMIT TODAY!!!

We welcome all proposals related to academic advising and invite submissions from staff, faculty, and administrators. Presentations are allotted 50 minutes during concurrent sessions. With this year’s theme of Moving Mountains, Maintaining Mindfulness we particularly encourage presentations that pertain to one or more of the following areas:

  •   Pioneering advising models and programs
  •   Mindful advising practices
  •   Advising to cultivate resilience and richer higher education experiences
  •   Advising special populations including but not limited to first-year, at-risk, nontraditional, or online students

This year the NACADA Region 8 Diversity Committee will be selecting and recognizing 3-5 sessions that focus on academic advising resources and programs for underrepresented populations. NACADA defines diversity from a very broad perspective, which includes diversity in regard to ethnicity, gender, gender identity, and sexual orientation as well as diversity in regard to institutional type, size, and employment position.  Diversity Committee designated sessions will be noted in the Region 8 Conference program and the presenters will receive a certificate of recognition.

We highly encourage proposals from 2-year institutions

Please join us for this wonderful professional development and networking opportunity. The conference will be held at the Holiday Inn Downtown in Missoula, Montana, April 10-12, 2017Conference registration is now open!
